Forward 06

“Almost nothing is impossible”. This was the motto of Munich Airport as an advertising location for 2006, with a focus on the World Cup opening game and semi-final in Munich. Advertising spaces which had previously never been approved for use and extraordinary room installations, from the Welcome Wall to the Vorfeldtower, were designed and made available to advertisers. ReflectionsThe new principle of BMW’s characteristic architecture was based on the Classical Modern Age with orthogonal layering of space-creating panels, in which the dynamic and time-based visitor experience generated a “flowing space”. A large ceiling panel closed off the space at the top and created a generous and at the same time intimate spatial experience. The architectural orchestration emphasized the premier vehicles by means of the central position of the ceiling opening and the flooring.

the stage or screen, nor just to presen-tation events and trade shows. It is a design approach, rooted in narrative, that can be applied as well to individual buildings and even to urban environments.
